If you have restless nights, low energy during day and snore during the night you need home remedies to stop snoring. A good night’s sleep is so important because it can help you get through the day without feeling sluggish and tired. Your snoring may be preventing you from getting the necessary sleep you need to be productive over the course of the day.

Not all anti snoring devices will work for every person because snoring is an effect that results in snoring. What causes snoring for one person won’t cause snoring for another person. What does this mean? This means the same remedy won’t work for two different people who suffer from snoring.

You need to understand th root cause of your snoring condition before you can put an end to it. If not, you may go through a boat load of remedies that fail and you will get nowhere fast. Once you have figured out the root cause then you can properly cure your snoring problem.

The Remedies

There are many home remedies that can help you reduce your snoring habit.

1. One home remedy would be losing weight. If you are overweight, you are more likely to snore when you sleep. A healthy diet and a steady dose of exercise will limit your risk of snoring surely. Excessive fatty tissue in your neck area with a block your air passage way causing it to vibrate - which then leads to snoring.  

2. Sleeping pills are another reason why people snore. If you take them to get a good night’s rest then you might be preventing someone else to get a good night’s rest because you are snoring. 
 
3. Alcohol is another reason why people snore if it is consumed before bed time. Alcohol will lead to access tissue in your throat and create existing tissue to become very soft causing you to snore. Avoid alcohol consumption before bed if you can.

4. Try adjusting your pillow to the proper height when you sleep. If you sleep with a thinner pillow and snore, get a thicker pillow. If you sleep on a thicker pillow, get a thinner pillow. Adjusting your head level may help your air passage ways to become less obstructed while you sleep.

5. Nasal strips are an excellent way to open your nasal passage ways. Many athletes use nasal strips to maximize the amount of oxygen they can receive in their lungs. Nasal strips are effective, inexpensive and should provide you with a better sleeping quality overall. If you feel funny wearing such a thing on your nose, don’t be. It is only at night so nobody will see you - or maybe just one person will, who knows.   

6. If you are desperate and want to reduce your snoring in the worst way, a CPAP mask has been know to work. While it is used mainly for those who suffer from sleep apnea, it can be used for the chronic snorer. This is an expensive device and uncomfortable so be prepared to pay many to feel uncomfortable during the night.

7. You may also try a real home remedy such as drinking tea and using a steam machine to help clear your nasal passage ways. If you don’t like tea then try to like it, find a tea you might consider drinking often.

8. You should also consider a different size pillow or no pillow at all to help reduce your snoring. Sleeping on your side with a contour pillow will assist you in staying in the right position throughout the night. This will not only help you reduce your snoring but possible keep you from tossing and turning trying to find a comfortable position.
